To supplement the guestrooms and apartments in the original front courtyard of this restored 19th-century colonial-style home, the new back courtyard was completed in 2008 to provide an additional ten brand-new, beautifully decorated bedrooms surrounding an intimate and lush garden courtyard.

Since 1986, Las Mariposas has been receiving Spanish language students, first-time and returning visitors who travel south each year. Thirteen quaint rooms, five self-catering studio apartments, and two bedrooms with kitchenette, surround each of the two intimate garden courtyards, filled with plants, flowers and an elegant stone privacy wall and fountain. It's tempting to spend the day lounging in the shade of one of the lush patios, guests may mingle and make new friends in the courtyard, complete with cafe-style tables and chairs, sun-loungers and sun-shades. Also a lovey place to sit and read a book.

The TV and sitting-room is another common area with DVD's, guidebooks, straw hats to share when the sun is beating down and umbrellas to borrow in the rainy season! There is also a communal kitchen area in the front courtyard for all guests, where breakfast is served every morning.

The reception desk and office, open from 8 am to 7 pm, is where you'll find Teresa and Lucía giving advice and attending to guests. Hospitality is a top priority for management and staff alike.
